Notre Dame Offers 2024 Standout Texas Linebacker Tyanthony Smith

Notre Dame has extended an offer to 2024 Jasper (Texas) High School linebacker Tyanthony Smith. The Texas standout has been on a tear recently, pulling in a bevy of offers from some standout programs recently.

You would be hard pressed to find a program who has been recruiting the linebacker position better than Notre Dame over the last two recruiting cycles. That includes a seven-man group of Joshua Burnham, Jaylen Sneed, Nolan Ziegler, Junior Tuihalamaka, Drayk Bowen, Jaiden Ausberry and Preston Zinter.

Notre Dame also had a tremendous impact on Texas in the 2023 recruiting class, closing on four recruits in the cycle. That was more than the Irish staff had signed from the Lone Star State in the previous five cycles combined.

Smith already boasts an incredibly impressive offer list. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers include the Fighting Irish, Alabama, Texas, USC, LSU, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Auburn, TCU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Baylor, Oregon State, Arizona State, Boston College and Missouri among others.

The 6-1, 200-pound defender is considered a four-star recruit by Rivals. He ranks as the No. 155 overall player and No. 20 linebacker in the 2024 recruiting class on their ranking.

During the 2022 season, Smith was limited to just five games due to injury. He was still able to accumulate 57 total tackles, six tackles for loss and a sack. Smith would also break up an additional two passes.
