Notre Dame Offers Pennsylvania Speedster Lex Cyrus
The open recruiting period is upon us, which means Notre Dame coaches are free to hit the road of key recruits around the country. That of course means that the board can expand, which it has on Thursday. Notre Dame has extended a scholarship offer to Harrisburg (Pa.) Susquehanna Township wide receiver Lex Cyrus, who is one of the big 2025 risers at wide receiver in the Northeast.
The 5-10, 175-pound pass catcher has steadily seen his offer list expand quickly. Cyrus currently holds offers from the Irish, Penn State, Auburn, Texas A&M, Maryland, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Iowa State, West Virginia, Pitt, Syracuse, Cincinnati, Duke and Rutgers among others.
Cyrus has also seen his recruiting ranking continue to expand over the last couple of months. The Pennsylvania native is currently rated as a four-star recruit and a top 200 player nationally by both On3 and 247Sports, coming in as the No. 189 and No. 200 overall player respectively.
As a junior, Cyrus put together a tremendous season. He hauled in 67 receptions for 1,115 yards and 13 touchdowns. Cyrus also had a punt return touchdown in 2023. On the track, Cyrus is also a tremendous sprinter, posting a personal best time of 10.45 seconds in the 100 meter dash.
Notre Dame has signed back-to-back strong recruiting classes at wide receiver, but it is still without a wideout in the 2025 class. The board is obviously being adjusted a bit with new wide receivers coach Mike Brown now starting to put his stamp on the board and the class. Cyrus is now the second wide receiver in the 2025 class to get an offer since Brown took over.
