Virginia Linebacker Bodie Kahoun Set For Important Notre Dame Visit

Linebacker recruiting has been a strange affair for far in the 2024 recruiting class for Notre Dame. One player that the staff has their eyes on is Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry linebacker Bodie Kahoun, who is set to make his first visit to campus this Wednesday on March 22nd.

Kahoun is a player that is still relatively new to the board, having been offered by the Irish on February 7th. As it turns out, the relationship between the two sides has begun before Notre Dame pulled the trigger. That relationship has been increasing considerably over the last couple of months.

“The relationship has been great and it is very easy to talk to all of the staff,” Kahoun said. “One thing that stands out for me was how quick I bonded with everyone over there.”

Having grown up in Indiana for the early part of his childhood, Kahoun is very aware of Notre Dame’s reputation and everything they bring to the table. Despite that upbringing, this will be Kahoun’s first time visiting campus. He already has his expectations set and few things he definitely wants to see.

“The stadium is one thing I’m very excited about,” he explained. “Also, just the facilities in general. There’s a lot of history around Notre Dame.”

There is also a potential dual sport layer to this conversation.

For people that don’t know, Kahoun is also a standout lacrosse player for Patrick Henry. The star midfielder has been committed to Ohio State for lacrosse since September of 2022. His ability to potentially play football, or both sports, in college could change for him to explore a different option.

During this Wednesday visit, Kahoun will be meeting not only with the Irish football staff but the lacrosse staff as well. It will be interesting to see how well the two staffs can work together to figure out the fit.

“Overall, I think it is just awesome to be in the position I am in because both teams are top tier in very many things,” explained Kahoun. “My family and I have been talking about it numerous times and are just excited to explore the potential.

“With more offers coming in, and hopefully more to come, I will most likely make a decision before June,” he continued. “I want to make sure I am making a great decision overall.”

Kahoun is a player that Notre Dame likes a lot. Figuring out all the particulars in this recruitment will go a long way from figuring out the fit. That starts on Wednesday.

The 6-3, 220-pound star has a constantly expanding offer list. Some of the notable programs that have offered so far include the Irish, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia Tech, Virginia, NC State, West Virginia and Indiana among others.

The dual-sport star is currently one of the top athletes on the 5-A level in Virginia. Despite his obvious connection to the state of Virginia, Kahoun actually did grow up in Zionsville, Indiana. He has his Midwest roots and should be very aware of the brand that Notre Dame boasts.
