For the second straight recruiting class, Notre Dame is eyeing an impressive haul of wide receivers. So far in the 2024 cycle, the staff has already gained a commitment from Chicago star Cam Williams, who has five-star upside as he continues to develop.

Notre Dame is set to host one of their top targets on the board in Long Beach (Calif.) Poly standout pass catcher Jason Robinson Jr. on Saturday. This will be the first trip for the Robinson family since the Boston College game last season when he was still committed to USC.

Things have changed quite a bit since that snowy day in South Bend. Notre Dame is now one of the favorites for the California star. Robinson is staying busy this off-season so far.

"The recruiting process has picked up and been a little challenging in the last two months,” Robinson explained. "But I've been able to use it to develop better skills with communication and time management so I would say it's been great. My most recent visit was Cal and I'm heading into a visit-tour to Syracuse, Penn State, another stop in South Bend and then back to Colorado.”

While this won’t be Robinson’s first time at Notre Dame, this time around offers a unique opportunity to really develop a much deeper understanding of the program. He is excited to really explore the fit from multiple angles.

"Since this is my second visit and the first time was really short, I'm thinking I will get to see more of the campus and the town,” Robinson said. "I'm also looking forward to talking to staff with the changes that have developed in terms of the offensive coordinator. I mainly want to see how the offense has changed and really strengthen my relationships with all the coaching staff as a unit. Oh, and I want to see Touchdown Jesus.”

That includes getting to see all the coaches. His relationships on that side of the equation are a big reason why Notre Dame is trending in such a good direction. Those bonds have increased exponentially since he reopened his recruitment.

"Well, with me learning the recruiting process more and more each day, my relationship with Coach (Marcus) Freeman, Coach (Chansi) Stuckey and other staff has just been getting stronger,” he stated. “They have done a good job at making me feel like Notre Dame is where I should be. I'm starting to develop my relationship with Coach (Gerad) Parker and look forward to getting tighter with him too. I can definitely see myself in their program. I know they will help me grow into the man version of who I am.”

Robinson has been very adamant that he is not going to rush this process since he has already decommitted once. He has stated in the past that he may be interested in also taking an official visit to Notre Dame in the end. This upcoming visit could set the stage for that.

"I haven't set a firm timeline because my family has a strong faith in letting God guide big decisions like this,” he said. "So I'm just doing my part and waiting for that moment. In the meantime I plan to make a top eight by the middle of summer so I can work on official visits.”

Robinson is considered a four-star recruit by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. 247Sports ranks him the highest among every major recruiting platform. The 5-10, 170-pound pass catcher is currently ranked as the No. 177 overall player and No. 33 wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting class.

The Poly standout is coming off a strong season as a sophomore in which he racked up 1,007 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 63 receptions for the 11-4 squad. He also finished second on the team with 16 yards per reception, showcasing his big play ability.

As a junior, Robinson has another strong season. Although he was limited to eight games, the California standout hauled in 46 receptions for 671 yards and five touchdowns.
