Wide Receiver Logan Saldate Commits To Notre Dame

In this story:
Notre Dame wanted a third talented wide receiver in the 2024 class and they've landed just that, with Salinas (Calif.) Palma athlete Logan Saldate committing to the Fighting Irish. Saldate had been committed to Oregon State since May, but now he is part of the Notre Dame class, joining Cam Williams and Micah Gilbert in the wide receiver class.
Saldate seemed locked into the Beaver class, but that was before Notre Dame came calling. Notre Dame's combination of football, academics and preparation for life after football was too much to pass up.
"The biggest sell is mainly life after football,” he said. "If I go to the NFL, it will only last for a limited amount of time. Notre Dame brings unlimited connections to the table. It was honestly a no-brainer for me. After talking with my parents, I just felt like if I passed up this opportunity then I would be kicking myself later on.”
Notre Dame already had three receivers in the class, but in early July, Georgia wideout Isiah Canion de-committed and ultimately flipped to Georgia Tech. The plan at the time for Notre Dame was to take their time in hope of finding the right player, but that happened faster than expected. After diving into over 20 pass catchers in the 2024 class, Notre Dame zeroed in on Saldate, and he's now in the class.
As a junior, the 5-11, 185-pound receiver caught 54 passes for 713 yards and nine touchdowns. He also rushed 11 times for another 114 yards and two touchdowns.
A consensus three-star recruit according to the national recruiting services, Saldate earned a 4.0-star grade and a Top 250 caliber ranking on the Irish Breakdown board. He earned offers from Washington, Oregon State, Oklahoma State, Arizona, California and Washington State.
