BREAKING: Ohio State F Brice Sensabaugh Selected By Utah Jazz With No. 28 Pick In 2023 NBA Draft

Ohio State Buckeyes forward Brice Sensabaugh becomes the second-consecutive one-and-done to be drafted.

Former Ohio State Buckeyes forward Brice Sensabaugh was drafted with the No. 28 pick in the first round by the Utah Jazz in the 2023 NBA Draft Thursday night.

Sensabaugh joins guards Mike Conley Jr., D'Angelo Russell, Malaki Branham and Daequan Cook and centers Greg Oden, Kosta Koufos and Byron Mullens as the only players in program history to professionalize after their freshman year and get drafted to the NBA. Branham and Sensabaugh have now done it in back-to-back years.

Four-star Sensabaugh was the third-best prospect in Ohio State's No. 8 2022 recruiting class, according to 247Sports, trailing guards Roddy Gayle Jr. and Bruce Thornton.

However, he burst onto the scene, showing off his scoring prowess with six-consecutive double-digit scoring performances to begin the year — one of the longest streaks to start a Buckeye career in program history.

After notching four points on the road against Duke Nov. 30, 2022, he went on a stretch of 16-consecutive games in double figures, including a career-high 27 points on 10-for-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from beyond the 3-point line.

His minutes totals scuffled down the stretch, playing 16 minutes against Wisconsin before coming off the bench for 25 and 16 minutes, respectively, versus Michigan and Northwestern.

However, after a four-game skid in which he tallied 39 points total, Sensabaugh returned to form, notching three of his 11 20-point performances on the season.

Sensabaugh went down with a season-ending knee injury against Iowa, finishing his Ohio State career as the fourth-highest freshman scorer in program history with 537 points on 48.2 percent from the floor and 40.5 percent from deep.

He was named to the Big Ten's All-Freshman Team and Third Team.
