The Ohio State Buckeyes picked up their second commitment from a cornerback in the class of 2024 Thursday.

Four-star cornerback Miles Lockhart announced he was committing to Ohio State, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett, choosing the Buckeyes over Wisconsin, Arizona State and Oregon among others. Lockhart joins four-star and No. 4 cornerback Bryce West as the only two Tim Walton has locked down at the position for the 2024 class.

“I have a very good relationship with Walton,” Lockhart told On3. “We text all the time and it doesn’t even have to be about football really just anything. And me and (Ryan) Day also have a strong relationship too which was huge for me as he’s the head coach. And they plan on using me in that nickel position.”

It was evident Ohio State had the beat on Lockhart from the time he was offered back in June 2022, as he took multiple unofficial trips before his official visit to Columbus June 16.

"All the meetings I had with the coaches were great," Lockhart told 247Sports' Blair Angulo in April. "My family and I sat down and talked with coach Day for a while and it was cool getting to know more about him and all the other coaches beyond football.”

The Chandler, AZ. native is the No. 33 cornerback and the No. 8 player in The Grand Canyon State, according to 247Sports Composite.

Despite playing on both sides of the ball in 2022, Lockhart recorded 69 tackles, 2.5 for loss and four interceptions on defense — where he will likely line up in college.

The Buckeyes are also awaiting a commitment announcement from Aaron Scott Jr. where it is presumably a 50-50 chance he picks Ohio State or Michigan.
