Four-star Receiver Jayvan Boggs De-commits From Ohio State

The Ohio State Buckeyes lost a key part of the 2025 class with the de-commitment of Jayvan Boggs

The Ohio State Buckeyes were trending toward having yet another elite recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, holding the No. 1 class ranking the nation per On3.

And while they very well still may finish at the No. 1 spot, that class took a big hit on Tuesday, with the Buckeyes losing a commitment from four-star receiver Jayvan Boggs, according to On3's Hayes Fawcett.

At the time of his de-commitment, the Florida native was the No. 212 player nationally, No. 26 receiver, and No. 32 player in the Sunshine State per the On3 Industry Ranking. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has him trending toward landing with the Florida Gators.

Boggs originally picked the Buckeyes over heavy interest from Florida, UCF and South Florida.

"I know I can be one of the next superstar receivers to come out of Ohio State," Boggs told Rivals.com's John Garcia upon his commitment.

According to the 6-foot, 190-pound pass catcher, it had been the relationships with Brian Hartline and Ryan Day that ultimately made the difference for him.

“What really made me commit was the relationships I created with Coach Day, Coach Hartline and Coach Jordan," Boggs told On3. "When I went up there it felt like a second home to me honestly!"

Boggs was also thoroughly impressed with the types of talents the Buckeyes have been able to produce in the NFL and wanted to be the next Ohio State first-round NFL Draft pick.

Now, however, it seems things have changed, and he will be looking elsewhere to develop his skills at the next level.

Fortunately, the Buckeyes still have a slew of talent still committed in the 2025 class, including Five star corners Devin Sanchez and Na'eem Offord and five star quarterback, Tavien St. Clair.
