In one combination move Monday, Ohio State football recruiting may have taken a strong step towards the biggest and -- maybe -- best offensive line haul in the class of 2024.

Two-time state champion Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward state champion offensive linemen and twin brothers Devontae and Deontae Armstrong announced their tandem commitment to Ryan Day's program fresh off of their latest trek to Columbus.

The towering brothers, Deontae listing himself at 6-foot-7 while Devontae's bio reads 6-foot-6, picked the Buckeyes over considerable national offers including that of Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Kentucky and Pitt among others.

The twin tackle duo, each listed just under 300 pounds, were offered by the in-state power back in January and each of course has frequented the program. On Sunday, Deontae posted a since-deleted Tweet about his top programs with a hint at Monday's verbal commitment coming around noon ET.

At the time of the post, the eight programs mentioned above made the cut as the top programs despite the duo holding more than 20 scholarship offers each. Almost every offer on board for one has been issued to the other, as each has made it little secret about wanting to attend the same college together.

The brothers helped St. Edward claim the Ohio Division 1 state championship as juniors in 2022, defending the program's 2021 title in the process of finishing as one of America's top high school programs per multiple outlets. Deontae played left tackle while Devontae worked at left guard next to his brother most times during their junior seasons.

Ohio State now holds six verbal commitments in the recruiting class of 2024, with the Armstrong twins pushing the offensive line haul up to four total recruits, joining fellow in-stater Marc Nave as well as Indiana native Ian Moore up front. In-state athlete Garrett Stover and top-ranked wide receiver recruit Jeremiah Smith round out the early haul for the program to date.
