Stacy Gage, a 4-star running back out of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, FL, announced his top five schools on Wednesday evening, with the Oklahoma Sooners making the cut.

Penn State, UCF, Florida and Colorado accompanied OU in Gage’s list.

Along with his top five, Gage said on Twitter that he will be making a commitment this Saturday.

As a junior, the star halfback ran for 704 yards and 14 touchdowns, also racking up 115 receiving yards. Gage spent his first two years of high school at IMG Academy before transferring to Wharton (FL) High School for his junior season.

Now a rising senior, Gage will finish his preps career at St. Thomas Aquinas.

The running back from Florida would be Jeff Lebby's fourth skill position player in the 2024 class, joining Frisco Emerson (TX) QB Michael Hawkins Jr., Hightower (TX) wide receiver Zion Kearney and Franklinton (LA) wideout KJ Daniels

Gage holds nearly 50 offers, with UCF being the running favorite to land the star tailback, according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Listed at 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, Gage is rated a 4-star prospect, rated the No. 64 player and No. 6 running back in the 2024 class.

When discussing his top five list with On3, the Tampa native called OU his "dream school". While it doesn't appear the Sooners' are projected to earn a commitment from Gage, the highly touted recruit posted photos of himself on three visits just days before he announced his top five: UCF, Penn State and Oklahoma.

If Lebby is able to surprise the recruiting world and land the 4-star back, it would be a massive victory for the Sooners' on the recruiting trail, who recently lost out on 5-star wideout and once-presumed OU "lock" Bryant Wesco.

Gage, however, was very specific with his reasoning for including UCF in his top five. "I’d love to stay home and build my own class, and also be a duo with (2025 UCF running back commit) Tavieon Swint," Gage told On3's Hayes Fawcett

The Oklahoma coaching staff and fanbase will simultaneously be awaiting an announcement from Gage on Saturday, hoping for an indication that the Sooners' tides have turned on the recruiting trail.
