Bass' announcement comes just one day after his trip to Norman for the Sooners' "Party at the Palace" recruiting event that saw groves of 2024 prospects flock to Oklahoma for a special night on campus.
Bass is listed as an athlete by recruiting services but is being recruited primarily by OU running backs coach DeMarco Murray. At Heritage Hall, Bass plays quarterback, but the skilled athlete dominated wide receiver and running back drills when he attended the Brent Venables Elite Camp in June.
Bass picked up his offer from the Sooners at camp, snagging a deep one-handed touchdown catch and repeatedly running by defenders with ease.
If Bass does end up playing running back, his time at the Venables camp indicates that he could also be a threat to catch passes out of the backfield despite not getting much experience as a receiver at Heritage Hall.
The Chargers' standout has the build of a tailback, already listed at 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds. Additionally, Bass has great top-end speed, taking home the Oklahoma 3A state title in May with a 10.56 100-meter dash.
If the Sooners' are able to get a commitment from Bass, he would be the third running back in OU's 2024 recruiting class, joining 5-star Taylor Tatum and fellow OKC native Xavier Robinson.
After his visit to Norman, the in-state product posted a photo of himself at the event.

Bass reportedly had a great time on campus with the Sooners' staff and other 2024 targets.
