Oklahoma Lands Fifth OL Commit in 2024 Recruiting Class

Less than a week from National Signing Day, the Sooners bolstered their 2024 recruiting class on Friday, earning a pledge from a coveted interior offensive lineman.

After a few days of troubling news for the Oklahoma offensive line, the Sooners finally got some good news on Friday.

Eddy Pierre-Louis, a 4-star offensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class, announced his commitment to play for Bill Bedenbaugh and the Sooners.

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound senior chose the Sooners over UCF, Miami, Oregon and Texas A&M.

He announced his decision on social media.

With the commitment, OU climbed to No. 6 nationally in Rivals' team rankings. The Sooners are still No. 8 in On3's team rankings and No. 9 by 247 Sports.

Rated as the No. 29 player overall and No. 1 guard in the country by Rivals, Pierre-Louis is a huge recruiting victory for Bedenbaugh and the rest of the OU staff as OU begins to rebuild in the aftermath of this week's sudden and shocking departure of left guard Cayden Green and the expected departure of two starters to the NFL Draft.

He told Rivals' John Garcia one of the reasons he chose OU was the Sooners' venture into the Southeastern Conference.

"Going into the SEC, that's the best type of ball," Pierre-Louis said. "You get the most recognition from the SEC. So playing against those top dogs, top defensive linemen, and having good coaches around you will help develop me and take me to that next level where I want to be, and that's the NFL.

"And also, coach Bedenbaugh, he has a great record of producing offensive linemen. So I want to be one of those big-time offensive linemen as well."

Pierre-Louis is ranked in the 247 Sports Composite as the No. 247 overall prospect in the nation and No. 11 interior offensive lineman. 247 Sports lists him as 6-3, 335 and rates him as a 4-star prospect.

Pierre-Louis is the Sooners' fifth o-line commit in the 2024 class, joining Daniel Akinkunmi, Josh Aisosa, Eugene Brooks and Isaiah Autry among the offensive line newcomers, rounding out a solid group despite the Sooners missing out on Iowa prospect Grant Brix, who committed to Nebraska.

Listed at 315 pounds, Pierre-Louis is a great athlete who is strong enough to handle SEC defensive lineman but is also fast enough to get to the second level. At a high school track meet last year, he ran the 100 meters in 12.97 seconds and ran the anchor leg for his 4x100 team. He also bench pressed 225 pounds 25 times.

A standout at Tampa Catholic, Pierre-Louis was teammates with current Oklahoma freshman linebacker Lewis Carter. Creating a pipeline to the Sunshine State will help the Sooners on the recruiting trail, especially as the team enters the SEC.

"It really took a toll probably last month," he said. "Me and my mom sat down together and we talked about all these schools individually. We talked about the strengths and the weakness of these schools. ... We chose OU because we felt like this was the best for me and for her and for my little sister as well. Because family is important for Coach Venables, and I feel like he will help me and develop me into the man I want to be."

With Pierre-Louis on board, Oklahoma has 27 scholarship commitments in the 2024 recruiting class. So far, the departure of Jeff Lebby has only resulted in one decommitment, as 3-star wideout Dozie Ezukanma backed off of his pledge on Nov. 27.

Pierre-Louis is the second high school player to commit to OU since Seth Littrell and Joe Jon Finley were elevated to offensive coordinator and co-offensive coordinator, respectively. Last Saturday, 2025 Melissa (TX) offensive lineman Owen Hollenbeck announced his pledge to the Sooners.

"It's been a long journey, and I'm very blessed about everything," he said. " ... I'm very positive about Oklahoma, and that's my home."

National Signing Day and the early signing period for the 2024 class kicks off Wednesday, Dec. 20.
