Oklahoma Sooners in the NFL — Who Made the 53-Man Roster Cuts

In this story:
Oklahoma's list of players in the NFL is growing every single year. Plenty of young Sooners survived roster cuts on Tuesday, while many of Oklahoma's past stars are already locked up with long-term deals.
Trent Williams, Lane Johnson, Orlando Brown and Ben Powers are all on multi-year massive deals, making top notch offensive lineman money. CeeDee Lamb, Mark Andrews and Hollywood Brown are premier pass catching targets on long-term deals that have had plenty of success at the pro level.
Oklahoma's trio of quarterbacks continue to rack up money on the payroll. Jalen Hurts signed a record-setting 5-year, $255 million contract this offseason. Kyler Murray is still on his 5-year, $230 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals, but a torn ACL from a season ago will keep him out for at least the first four games. Baker Mayfield signed a one-year deal in Tampa Bay and recently won the starting job.
One familiar fan favorite that made the 53-man roster in New York today is Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard. Shepard has suffered a multitude of injuries and difficult setbacks, including a torn ACL a season ago, but is back and ready to compete.
Oklahoma's 2023 rookie class performed well in training camp, as Marvin Mims, Eric Gray, Anton Harrison, Wanya Morris, and Brayden Willis all made their team's respective 53-man roster.
Samaje Perine was poached away from Cincinnati this offseason, signing a new deal with the Denver Broncos, and should see a good amount of work. Joe Mixon is alone in the Bengals backfield after restructuring his contract and will be a key piece to one of the best teams in the NFL. Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson is a rising star after a 1,000-yard sophomore campaign in New England.
