Oklahoma OL Enters Transfer Portal

In this story:
A once-promising offensive line recruit has reportedly entered the portal.
Cullen Montgomery, who had yet to play in a game in his first two seasons, has reportedly decided to leave Oklahoma.
The news was first reported by OU Insider’s Brandon Drumm, who posted Sunday’s news to Twitter. Montgomery confirmed it Monday on Twitter.
The 6-foot-4, 352-pound Montgomery came to OU from Houston Episcopal as a 3-star prospect, according to 247 Sports and Rivals.
He didn’t play in 2021 as he took a redshirt, and was unable to crack the rotation and didn’t play in 2022. Montgomery tweeted last November that he was "down 48 pounds" and said "I made a commitment to myself that I would lock into the process" and "I'm betting on myself this time."

Montgomery was the Sooners’ third verbal commitment of the 2021 class, committing on January 19, 2020 and was a vocal proponent of that commitment when quarterback Caleb Williams staged his “Sooner Summit” in Norman during the pandemic.
The NCAA Transfer Portal was open from April 15-30 this year, a spring window that helps players and coaching staffs better establish the roster following spring football. Players can enter the portal any time, but must enter during the 15-day spring window or the 45-day winter window after bowl announcements to be immediately eligible for the coming fall semester.
