NORMAN — Saturday's session of the Brent Venables Football Camp once again saw a large handful of Division I prospects competing in front of the OU coaching staff.

While Thursday's session had multiple players who came into the day with an offer from Oklahoma, the second day of camp featured one commit, 2025 Rock Hill (TX) QB Kevin Sperry

Aside from Sperry, who was once again impressive, many of the campers on Saturday seemed to be battling in an effort to impress the Sooners' coaching staff and earn a scholarship offer. Four players left the second day of camp with an offer from OU between three different recruiting classes.

In the 2024 cycle, Odessa (TX) wide receiver Ivan Carreon announced that he received an offer from the Sooners mid-day.

After competing well in the morning session, the OU coaching staff seemingly pulled Carreon into Brent Venables office before extending an offer to the Texas Tech commit. Listed at 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds, the 4-star wideout was originally recruited to the Red Raiders by current Sooners' coach Emmett Jones

Other than TTU, Carreon has received offers from Texas State, Southeast Missouri State and Purdue. The Odessa High star is ranked as one of the top 200 players in the country, per 247Sports.

OU also offered 2025 Elkhorn North (NE) tight end Chase Loftin after the rising junior made multiple skilled catches in the morning session of camp. Listed at 6-5 and 200 pounds, Loftin's movements are extremely fluid for someone of his size and stature.

The Nebraska native was able to get in and out of his breaks with ease, running by defenders continually in one-on-one drills. At one point, the Sooners newest tight end offer made a great catch nearly 50 years downfield, tightroping the sideline as he watched the ball in over his shoulder.

Loftin's older brother, Brayden, is currently a tight end at Kansas State. Loftin detailed how excited he was to receive an offer following his strong performance in Norman.

"It's a dream come true for me. ... One of the happiest moments of my life," Loftin said later. "It definitely felt like I earned it and had to put some work into it. ... Overall, it's just my dream school."

Following his first collegiate offer, Loftin told AllSooners that he will be back on campus in late July for a visit.

One of the two rising sophomores to earn an offer at the OU camp on Saturday was 2026 Bethany (OK) defensive back Evenson Malaska

The rising sophomore went toe-to-toe with some of the top wideouts in attendance, repeatedly shutting down very skilled pass-catchers.

Malaska is the younger brother of Utah DB Jocelyn Malaska, who also went to Bethany. He is already 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, competing in football, track and soccer.

Oklahoma offering Malaska is an indication that the 2026 DB will be a priority for Venables and company.

Bill Bedenbaugh also found an impressive prospect in his group of campers on Saturday, offering 2026 offensive lineman Gregory Patrick of Portage Northern (MI) High School. At just 14-years-old, Patrick already stands at a whopping 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan.

The talented freshman holds six offers already, with many more surely on the way as the young lineman continues to grow and improve his play. Currently, Patrick holds offers from Michigan State, Minnesota and Oklahoma, among others.

Two wideouts who hold Division I offers, CJ Simon and Cullen Charles, both had outstanding performances on Saturday. While neither player currently has an offer from the Sooners, both Simon and Charles put themselves in good position to receive one after an impressive day in front of the OU coaching staff.

Simon, a 2025 ATH from Moore (OK) High School, put his speed on display in one-on-one drills, scorching down the field past his defender regularly. Additionally, the Lions star showcased his strong hands with multiple tough, contested catches in traffic.

With offers in hand from Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Texas Tech, Simon is poised for a big-time junior season.

Charles, a 2024 wide receiver from St. Martinville (LA) High School, showed off his blazing speed and impeccable route running ability on Saturday. The 3-star wideout was virtually unguardable in one-on-one drills, getting open down the field nearly every rep he took.

Charles, who has received offers from Houston, Memphis and UCF, among others, dominated the morning session of camp.

With so much talent on campus in the first two days of the Brent Venables Football Camp, it will be intriguing to see who performs well in the three remaining sessions.
