For the second week in a row, the Oklahoma coaching staff stayed busy on the recruiting trail. 

After extending around 25 offers last week, the Sooners offered another 22 prospects over the past seven days, in addition to landing in the top-eight lists for two talented juniors.

On Tuesday, 4-star defensive lineman Trent Wilson announced his top eight schools. In addition to Oklahoma; Penn State, Tennessee, Ohio State, Maryland, Texas A&M, Florida and Florida State made the cut for the Baltimore native. 

According to On3, Wilson is the No. 26 overall player and the No. 4 defensive lineman in the 2025 class. 

The same day that Wilson announced his list, Sooners' defensive line coach Todd Bates stopped by Dr. Henry Wise (MD) High School to visit the 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive lineman. 

Wilson also announced that he will visit Norman on March 9.

Less than an hour after Wilson announced his top schools, 4-star Bridgeland (TX) offensive lineman Jonte Newman dropped his final eight, which included Oklahoma, Texas, USC, TCU, Houston, Texas A&M, Alabama and Tennessee.

Newman originally picked up an offer from Bill Bedenbaugh at the Brent Venables Elite Camp over the summer. Listed at 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds, Newman is rated the No. 24 offensive tackle and the No. 349 overall player in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

In addition to making the cut for two 2025 recruits, Venables and company offered nine prospects in the same class over the past week, five of which were wide receivers. 

Shaun Terry, a 3-star wideout from Ironton, OH, and the cousin of 2009 NBA All-Rookie honoree OJ Mayo, was the first pass catcher to earn an offer from the Sooners this week.  

Following Terry was James Johnson, a 3-star receiver from Douglas County (GA) and CJ Wiley, a 4-star from Milton (GA).

Emmett Jones and company also extended offers to 4-stars Travis Smith Jr. and Cortez Mills. Hailing from Atlanta Westlake (GA), Smith Jr. is rated the No. 8 wide receiver and the No. 74 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class, according to On3. 

The standout pass catcher is listed at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds and holds offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Oregon and many others.

Mills, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, is rated the No. 180 overall player and the No. 21 wide receiver in the upcoming cycle. The Homestead (FL) standout has been offered by Georgia, Miami, LSU, Texas A&M and Michigan, among others.

Also in Florida, the Sooners offered American Heritage (FL) junior cornerback Gregory Thomas over the past week. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, the 4-star DB is rated the No. 13 cornerback and the No. 112 overall player in the 2025 class.

The OU coaching staff also extended two offers to edge rushers this week, with 3-star Smith Orogbo from Alief Hastings (TX) and 3-star Kade Pietrzak from Sheyenne (ND), both hearing from Miguel Chavis and company.

To round out the Sooners' 2025 recruiting efforts for the week, Archbishop Riordan (CA) offensive lineman Peter Langi received an offer from the Sooners. Listed at 6-foot-6 and 350 pounds, Langi is rated the No. 15 interior offensive lineman in the country, according to Rivals.

In the 2026 class, two quarterbacks headlined the week, with 5-star Jared Curtis of Nashville Christian (TN) and 4-star Faizon Brandon of Grimsley (NC) both picking up offers from Seth Littrell

Curtis, listed at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, is rated the No. 1 player in the nation according to 247Sports. Brandon, who is 6-foot-4 and 191 pounds, is rated the No. 74 overall player and the No. 6 quarterback in the 2026 class, per 247Sports.

Most of the 2026 offers Oklahoma extended this week went to players in the Southeastern region of the country. 

In addition to the two aforementioned prospects, Lakeland (FL) linebacker Malik Morris and St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) safety Justice Fitzpatrick both earned offers from OU.

Fitzpatrick, who is the No. 28 overall player and No. 3 safety in the nation according to 247Sports, is the younger brother of Pittsburgh Steelers All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

In South Carolina, the Sooners offered South Pointe (SC) cornerback J'Zavien Currence. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Currence is rated the No. 4 corner and the No. 32 overall player in the 2026 class, per 247Sports.

Oklahoma also offered three sophomores in the state of Georgia, with two coming from the same high school. 

4-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory and 4-star edge rusher Jordan Carter from Douglas County (GA) both picked up offers from OU this week. Deion Thomas, a 6-foot-3 wideout from Hapeville Charter (GA), rounded out the Sooners' 2026 recruiting efforts in the Peach State this week.

In North Carolina, OU extended an offer to 5-star sophomore tight end Kendre Harrison. Listed at 6-foot-7 and 244 pounds, Harrison is rated the No. 4 overall player and No. 1 tight end in the country.

The Sooners also offered two sophomore defensive linemen this week, with Anthony Kennedy Jr. of Southwest Christian Academy (AR) and Cameron Brickle of Santa Margarita Catholic (CA) both hearing from OU.

Oklahoma's final 2026 offer of the week went out to Hunter Higgins, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound edge rusher from Maize South (KS). 

The Sooners also continued to expand their 2027 offer sheet this week, with Waxahachie (TX) athlete JayQuan Snell becoming just the fourth freshman to receive an offer.
