Dan Lanning has found his man.

On Tuesday afternoon Oregon Football announced the hire of A'lique Terry as the team's next offensive line coach. Terry fills a hole on the coaching staff that was created after Adrian Klemm left Eugene to join the New England Patriots coaching staff.

Terry returns to Eugene after serving as a graduate assistant at Oregon from 2019 to 2020. While on the staff the Ducks fielded an offensive line that was one of four finalists for the Joe Moore Award in 2019, presented annually to the best offensive line in college football.

During the 2021 season he coached the offensive line at the University of Hawai'i and was an assistant defensive line coach with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022.

"We are thrilled to welcome A'lique back to the Oregon family," Head Coach Dan Lanning said in a press release Tuesday. "A'lique is very familiar with our program and understands the values and goals that we have here in Eugene. He is passionate, with unique experiences that range from the college ranks all the way to the NFL as a coach. He also has experience as a player, competing at the Power 5 level on the offensive line. "

"His relationships with our current and past student-athletes are unmatched, and his reputation as a teacher precedes him. We are really excited about what A'lique brings to our program and the positive impact he'll have on our student-athletes both on and off the field."

Oregon's new offensive line coach was actually in line to join Lanning's initial staff after he was hired in December of 2021, but ended up with the Minnesota Vikings.

"I am really excited to return to the University of Oregon," Terry said. "I want to thank Coach Lanning and the Oregon administration for this incredible opportunity to be a part of what they are building in Eugene. I've experienced first-hand how special Oregon is, and I couldn't be more fired up to get back and connect with our student-athletes. I am very appreciative and can't wait to get to work."

His familiarity with the roster and the Oregon program should make for a smooth transition back to the Northwest.

Terry is originally from Miami and played his college football at Wake Forest and got his start in coaching as a quality control coach with the Demon Deacons in 2018. He's the third new on-field hire for Lanning this off-season after hiring Will Stein as offensive coordinator and Chris Hampton as safeties coach.
