"Welcome Coach Arroyo to Tempe!" Dillingham wrote on Twitter. "I couldn't be more excited to add him to our staff as the Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach! #SunDevil4LIFE"
Arroyo most recently served as the head coach for the UNLV Rebels from 2020-2022 before being fired and replaced by current head coach Barry Odom, who led the team to an appearance in the Mountain West championship game against Boise State.
The new ASU offensive coordinator first joined the Willie Taggart's Oregon staff in 2017 as the co-Offensive Coordinator, quarterbacks and tight ends coach. He was elevated to the full-time offensive coordinator in 2018 under head coach Mario Cristobal.
Arroyo's best season at Oregon came in 2019, when the Ducks won the Pac-12 title and were among the highest-scoring offenses in the sport, averaging 35.4 points per game behind the arm of quarterback Justin Herbert and the running back duo of CJ Verdell and Travis Dye.
He would be replaced by Joe Moorhead as Oregon's offensive coordinator prior to the 2020 season.
Kenny Dillingham is coming off a 3-9 debut season as Arizona State's head coach, winning just two games in conference play. Oregon dominated Arizona State 49-13 in Tempe behind a six-touchdown performance from Bo Nix.
The Sun Devils will head to the Big 12 conference in 2024 and be joined by former Pac-12 foes Arizona State, Utah and Colorado.
