2024 Springfield (Oh.) High cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. He made his decision on social media Sunday.

Scott chose the Buckeyes from a final three that also included Oregon and Michigan.

He took official visits to all three schools, but Oregon was never viewed as the team to beat during his recruitment. It's never easy to pull the top players away from the Buckeyes in their home state and no one should expect that to change any time soon.

Scott joins an Ohio State class that ranks No. 2 nationally in 2024 according to 247Sports. The Buckeyes have three cornerbacks in the fold including Bryce West from Cleveland (Oh.) Glenville and Miles Lockhart from Chandler (Ariz.) Basha--two talented defensive backs who were also recruited by the Ducks at previous points this cycle.

Oregon still only has one cornerback committed in the 2024 class, but it's a good one. Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy standout Ify Obidegwu is an Under Armour All-American who will help bolster Oregon's depth in the secondary after losing Christian Gonzalez.

With Scott off the board to Ohio State, there are two main names to monitor at cornerback for Oregon.

The first is Gardena (Calif.) Serra cornerback Dakoda Fields, who's committed to USC. He pledge to the Trojans last month but popped up in Eugene for the Saturday Night Live camp this weekend.

The other big name is San Mateo (Calif.) College of San Mateo cornerback Sione Laulea III, the nation's No. 1 junior college prospect. He took an official visit with the Ducks last month and could be making his decision in the next few months.
