Kansas State Safety Kobe Savage Commits to Oregon
Kansas State safety Kobe Savage has committed to Oregon.
He announced his decision over social media Wednesday morning.
The former Wildcats star bolsters Oregon’s secondary at a key position of need with the departures of Bryan Addison, Steve Stephens IV and Evan Williams heading into 2024.
Before Savage spent the last two seasons in Manhattan, he was a highly-touted JUCO product from Tyler Junior College in his home state of Texas. He accumulated 100 tackles, 6 interceptions and 4 pass breakups.
While at Kansas State Savage was a two-year starter and earned All-Big 12 second team honors.

The 5-foot-11, 207-pound safety racked up 115 total tackles and 6 interceptions during his two seasons.
Savage projects to make a major impact at Oregon, being able to play in the box and over top at the strong safety position. The Ducks' safeties struggled to cover in 2023 and their newest addition should be a starter alongside Tysheem Johnson, who joined the Ducks this season after transferring in from Ole Miss.
The former Big 12 standout is the definition of consistency with three interceptions in each of his two seasons at Kansas State recording 58 tackles in his first season there and then 57 this last season.
With his addition the Ducks lock down a key position in the secondary with a player who has proven experience at a high level.
Oregon continues to gain momentum in the transfer portal as Savage marks their first defensive commitment this offseason.
Dan Lanning and the Ducks are now up to five total commitments, headlined by Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
