Brayden Platt, one of the top players in the Pacific Northwest, continues to trend to Oregon.

It's been relatively quiet on the recruiting trail lately for Dan Lanning and the Ducks since flipping 2024 Gardena (Calif.) Serra cornerback Dakoda Fields from the USC Trojans.

But that could be change in the near future, as Oregon picked up two new crystal ball predictions on Wednesday to land 2024 Yelm (Wash.) linebacker Brayden Platt.

Platt, listed at 6'2", 240 pounds, is one of the top uncommitted linebackers in his class and is expected to make his college commitment on September 4. The Washington native is down to a top two of Oregon and Oklahoma--a battle that the Ducks are well positioned to win.

Prior to Wednesday's predictions, I predicted Platt to Oregon back in July.

The Ducks have two other linebacker commits this cycle in Long Beach (Calif.) Poly standout Dylan Williams, who chose Oregon over Michigan State last month, as well as Los Alamitos (Calif.) Adidas All-American selection Kamar Mothudi, whose recruitment also came down to the Ducks and Spartans.

Dan Lanning and company are due for some momentum at linebacker after they missed out on Conroe (Tex.) Oakridge prep Justin Williams earlier this month when he announced his pledge to Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Oregon's 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 12 nationally according to 247Sports, and a commitment from Platt would round out what will likely be the best linebacker haul out West.

Other names to monitor on the trail include Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea running back Jason Brown Jr., who placed the Ducks in his top three schools, Tampa (Fla.) Catholic interior offensive lineman Eddy Pierre-Louis, and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei defensive lineman Aydin Breland.
