The Ducks are hosting some serious talent on campus this weekend as the transfer portal continues to head up.

The early signing period is quickly approaching next Wednesday and 2024 recruits will put pen to paper and ink their college commitments. Coaches traveled all over the country throughout the week, but they're back in Eugene for a very important weekned.

Here are the latest names that are expected in Eugene to visit Oregon this weekend. I'll update this list as I confirm more names.

QB Dante Moore

The UCLA quarterback and former 5-star Oregon commit has been one of the most discussed players since entering the transfer portal. A visit this weekend could be just what the Ducks need to seal the deal and land his commitment. Dan Lanning getting the first trip right after landing Dillon Gabriel in the portal is significant.

He could sit behind Gabriel for a year in 2024 and then compete for the starting job in 2025. It's pretty clear that the Ducks have one of the best setups a quarterback in his situation could ask for: an elite offensive line, great skill talent, and a veteran to learn from.

RB Jay Harris

The Northwest Missouri State running back is 6'2", 215 pounds. He could give the Ducks a new look as a bigger back in the running back room with some good college experience. He rushed for 1,433 yards and 14 touchdowns on 244 carries this season while averaging 5.9 yards per carry.

OL Cayden Green

The Oklahoma freshman OL looks like one of Oregon's top options to fill in at guard following Steven Jones' departure. There's a clear connection here as he could be looking to follow new Oregon's new quarterback over from Oklahoma.

DL Derrick Harmon

The Michigan State defensive lineman is one of the biggest names on this list. The Ducks have a need at interior defensive line and Harmon is battle-tested after playing in the Big Ten for three years.

CB Tyreek Chappell

The Texas A&M defensive back is one to watch this weekend. He played in 33 games with the Aggies and logged 106 total tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions and 26 pass breakups.

S Kobe Savage

Staying in the secondary, Savage looks to be Oregon's top safety option in the portal right now. He'll take trips to both Oregon and Washington on a West Coast swing this weekend.

It appears that Clemson safety Andrew Mukuba will not be visiting Oregon and he could be heading back his home state with the ties he has with the Texas Longhorns.

S Corey Ellington

The Mississippi State defensive back is the second former Bulldog to pop up in Eugene after his former teammate, cornerback Decamerion Richardson arrived Wednesday evening.

With the Ducks out of it for Mukuba, Ellington was a nice surprise visitor. He played in 31 games during his three seasons at Mississippi State and logged 92 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 2 pass breakups.

He's got great size for the position at 6'3", 200 pounds.

CB Dakoda Fields

Fields is the only 2024 recruit I'm aware is visiting this weekend. That could easily change, but I'm not that surprised given the staff has been all over the country doing in-home visits this week.

Other notes

This list could change as the weekend unfolds, but these are the biggest names to keep an eye on if you're an Oregon fan right now.

I'm told that the staff continues to "feel good" about their chances to flip 2024 Ohio State wide receiver commit Jeremiah McClellan after doing an in-home visit out in St. Louis recently. However, for what it's worth I'm also hearing there is some hesitation due to distance.

I'm still continuing to monitor 2024 USC wide receiver commit Ryan Pellum. The staff stopped by his school earlier this week and while I haven't been able to confirm that it was to see him specifically, I don't understand why they'd use crucial recruiting time there if not to see him. I could be wrong, but just a thought.
