Oregon quarterback recruiting continues to get more interesting here in the spring.

After hosting 2024 Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope passer Luke Moga this weekend, the Ducks are set to host another one of their priority targets just next weekend.

On Sunday, Baltimore (MD) St. Frances Academy quarterback Michael Van Buren announced that he will be in Eugene for Oregon's spring game.

Van Buren was just in Eugene for an unofficial visit on April 14. Right after that trip he placed Oregon in his top three schools along with Penn State and Maryland.

Penn State is the 247Sports Crystal Ball leader, but a return trip to Oregon on his own dime could suggest that the Ducks have made up some ground on the Nittany Lions and may even be surging ahead.

Having the Under Armour All-American quarterback on campus around Oregon commits and other top targets at the spring game should only aid the staff in their pursuit. Wide receiver commit Jordan Anderson, the headliner of Oregon's 2024 haul, will be on campus and he'll be joined by Mater Dei's Brandon Baker, the top offensive tackle in the country--just to name a few big-time players.

The Ducks have been prioritizing the DMV area under Dan Lanning, missing out on five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor in 2023, but signing Washington, D.C. defensive back Collin Gill

Now they're putting the full-court press on Van Buren, who has set a commitment date of July 8. We'll have to see if there's some flexibility with that date, because a verbal commitment could help the Ducks explode on the recruiting trail and add to a recruiting class that already ranks No. 12 nationally and tops in the Pac-12.

It looks like Dan Lanning and company are set for a busy week on the recruiting trail.
