In this story:

Welcome to "Prospect Pulse", a new series I'm going to be starting on Ducks Digest where I give my latest thoughts or "pulse" on where a recruit may be headed, or typically Oregon's chances with their top recruiting targets.

Today we're starting off with a bit of a different look, as four-star (0.9832 per 247Sports Composite) Birmingham (Ala.) Vestavia Hills edge rusher Jordan Ross is set to make his college commitment.

He'll make his decision on Monday evening at 5 pm PT on the On3 Sports YouTube channel.

Ross holds an Oregon offer and had been a priority defensive target, but the Ducks have been losing momentum after hosting him in Eugene for the spring game. I reported earlier this summer that he was scheduled to visit Oregon again, but mechanical issues with his plane cancelled the trip.

However, I've kept my ear to the ground and stayed plugged in on this recruitment.

The 6-foot-4, 233-pound lineman will choose from a final four of Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Texas.

Prediction: Tennessee Volunteers

Intel I've received leads me to believe that Josh Heupel and the coaching staff on Rocky Top are in a great position heading into this decision on Monday. The Florida Gators were another team that did a great job in this recruitment, but they haven't done enough to overcome the momentum the Vols have built.

Tennessee has the No. 11 class in the country according to 247Sports, headlined by five-star wide receiver Mike Matthews. They don't have an edge rusher in this class, but they do have some solid defensive linemen in the fold in three-stars Kellen Lindstrom and Carson Gentle.

I think Ross will be headed to Rocky Top come decision time on Monday.
