Oregon is pursuing a lot of great playmakers in the 2025 class, but one that's really risen to the top of their board is Scottsdale (Ariz.) Notre Dame Preparatory wide receiver Cooper Perry

He's set for a flurry of unofficial visits this spring with the recruiting dead period ending on Monday.

"I'm gonna be taking a visit to Oregon the 20th (of April)," he told Ducks Digest. "I got Tennesse April 6, Colorado April 12. I'll see USC on Monday. And then Arizona State, in-state school whenever. But those are kind of the ones I got set for now."

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver, who's also a star lacrosse player, has started to lay out his official visits.

"I'll be taking Oregon June 7-9. I'll be taking Oklahoma the 21st through the 23rd of June and Arizona State May 31 through June 2. I got Washington the first one, May 1 through May 3."

Oregon was one of the first schools to extend a scholarship offer early in his high school career and the Ducks haven't let up at all in the time since.

"They just been on me from the start, which is awesome because, them showing that love and to keep showing that love throughout the whole process to me is definitely big."

Dan Lanning and Junior Adams are two of the best recruiters on staff in Eugene and they have big aspirations for the future of the program.

"Obviously Coach Lanning and Coach Adams are two great coaches that want to win," Perry said. "So definitely that. Coach Adams, his pedigree and how many wide receivers he's developed is definitely cool to see."

Strong relationships throughout both the coaching and recruiting staffs could make the Ducks tough to beat for the Arizona prep.

"Coach Lanning just came to see me before the dead period at my school. He came to see me with Coach Mike (Brian Michalowski) the linebackers coach. He actually went to my high school, so really good relationship with him.

"All the player personnel guys. Coach Araghi, Kam Araghi, he's literally like family to me. Coach Adams, great relationship with Coach Adams, Coach (Will) Stein as well. Literally every single coach at Oregon I have a great relationship with and they show a lot of love."

Perry is keeping things in perspective while navigating the highs and lows of the recruiting process.

"I'm definitely enjoying it," he said. "I only get this one time, so definitely trying to have fun. But main thing get ready for college. But it can be overwhelming at times. Really just try to stay patient, stay humble and have a good time during this whole thing."

He's hoping to make his college commitment before next football season.

"I definitely want to take my officials first, kind of stay patient. But ideally before my senior season for sure.

One recruiting development that's been making headlines is the recent proposal of three signing periods. I asked Perry for his thoughts.

"I think that's definitely big as a recruit," he said. "A lot of teams, especially with the transfer portal, you know, kind of just stay in that portal. So it's definitely good as a recruit, to see that. I like it."

After the No. 1 player in Arizona makes his commitment, he'll have his sights set on enrolling early at the school of his choice.

"I definitely want to enroll early for sure. As a receiver I definitely want to get there and get on campus and and learn spring ball and get the workouts and get all that done."

"Definitely just a humble kid. Hard working for sure. I want to prove a lot of stuff to a lot of people, but I would just say that the main thing is humble and  hungry for sure. I got great work ethic and that's just a little bit about me."
