Pitt Lands Two on Preseason All-ACC Football Team
PITTSBURGH -- Two Pitt Panthers were awarded spots on the preseason All-ACC team on Wednesday. Defensive linemen Habakkuk Baldonado and Calijah Kancey were Pitt's lone representatives. The Panthers did not have a player receive a vote for Player of the Year.
Baldonado and Kancey were two of the most productive pass rushers in the league last season, finishing third and eighth, respectively, in the ACC in sacks. Baldonado received 54 votes and Kancey garnered 62.
Clemson led all schools with six selections and NC State followed closely behind with five, led by preseason Player of the Year, Devin Leary. Quarterbacks Sam Hartman from Wake Forest and Tyler Van Dyke from Miami followed Leary in Player of the Year voting.
Boston College and Miami tied for the most selections among Coastal Division teams with three a piece.
