Former Gamecock Star Allisha Gray Gets Contract Extension

On Tuesday, former South Carolina Gamecock Allisha Gray signed a contract extension with the Atlanta Dream after they recently acquired her via trade. The Dream sent their 2023 No. 3 overall pick and their first-round pick of the 2025 Draft to the Dallas Wings in return for the 2017 WNBA Rookie Of The Year's services.
Gray had her best year with the Wings last season, averaging 13.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, and for Atlanta, signing a player of Gray's caliber will only further propel the club in the right direction.
"Having Allisha committed to our squad long-term is another big step in solidifying our core for the future," said Head Coach Tanisha Wright. "Not only is Gray an amazing addition on the court, but who she is as a person will be a great representation for our organization off the court."
The Georgia native, who graduated from Washington County High School, recently shared her thoughts on returning home with local reporters.
"This is an amazing opportunity to make Atlanta my home," Gray said. "This organization and this fan base have already been so welcoming to me, and I haven't even put on a Dream jersey yet. I'm grateful to be a part of what Tanisha and Dan are building here, and I'm excited to get to work."
