Shane Beamer and South Carolina's Football program are off to a hot start in the 2024 recruiting cycle, having already accomplished multiple goals such as keeping South Carolina prospects in-state, securing commitments at positions of need and getting their quarterback for the cycle in Dante Reno. With the Spring game having just passed and the summertime recruiting window, there's a few other players who could soon shut down their recruitment and join the Gamecocks' 2024 class. Who are those prospects?

Athlete Daniel Hill

I'm going to start off with the most recognizable name on the national recruiting scene in Daniel Hill, a Mississippi Native whom South Carolina has built significant momentum with other the past few months. Since offering the rising senior back in September of last year, the Gamecocks have hosted Daniel Hill on two separate visits, including one for last weekend's Garnet and Black Spring Game.

Hill was spotted wearing Gamecock gloves at an OT7 camp back in late March, a clear indication that South Carolina is a major contender in his recruitment. Combine this with his social media activity surrounding the program, and it feels as if this recruitment trending positively for Beamer & Co.

Safety Kelvin Hunter

Kelvin Hunter is one of the final uncommitted football targets within the Palmetto State that the Gamecocks are heavily pursuing in the 2024 class. The West Florence prospect has received offers from Michigan, Auburn, Kentucky and a few other FBS programs, but has visited the Gamecocks five times throughout his recruitment, far more than any other program.

With Hunter taking his official visit to Columbia the weekend of June 23rd-25th, which includes a group full of in-state commits, it would be a shock if Kelvin went deep into the Summer having not committed to the Gamecocks.

Wide Receiver Jonathan Paylor

Paylor is a target on South Carolina's board who would fill several needs for the Gamecocks, as he would bring all-around game-breaking ability to South Carolina's offense and add much-needed wide receiver depth to the roster. Jonathan has even named South Carolina his leader on multiple occasions.

While NC State is fighting tooth and nail to nab the commitment from the North Carolina native, Gamecock commit Mazeo Bennett along with Justin Stepp and South Carolina's offensive coaching have done a great job of forming strong bonds here, which could lead to a commitment over the Summer.
