TCU Baseball: Braeden Sloan Named Big 12 Pitcher Of The Week

TCU's Braeden Sloan earns his first Big 12 Pitcher of the Week of his career.

TCU baseball's Braeden Sloan has been awarded Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for his incredible performance against Arizona. It is the first time Sloan has ever received this honor.

The left-hander threw six innings allowing just three hits in a shutout effort during TCU's 6-1 win over the Wildcats Wednesday. The sophomore racked up 13 strikeouts in his first start of the year, improving to 3-0 on the season. Sloan allowed just five baserunners total.

This is the third Big 12 honor the Horned Frogs have received all year. Sloan joins Chase Brunson (Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, Feb. 19) and Anthony Silva (Big 12 Player of the Week, Feb. 19) as the only Frog winners this year.

TCU is off to the best start in program history at 12-0, one of only five teams to remain unbeaten. The Frogs will be in action next against Abilene Christian on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT before playing at Kansas this weekend.

Sloan has been a breakout player for the Frogs this year and is looking to play a big part in having success this season.
