Heading into Wednesday's game against BYU, TCU needed 11 three-pointers to break the record for most made triples in a season by any Horned Frog team. They shot 14-29 from deep on their way to a win over the Cougars 68-58.

The Horned Frogs trailed 9-5 in the first quarter, but a 9-0 run propelled by threes from Agnes Emma-Nnopu and Sydney Harris put TCU in the lead. They went to half holding on to a 29-27 advantage.

The Cougars came into this matchup second in the Big 12 in three-point shooting, only trailing TCU. However, the second and third quarters didn't treat them well as they connected on one triple. The third quarter has plagued TCU all season long but a 21-11 stretch reversed the fortunes for the Frogs.

The record-setting three also came in the third quarter delivered by Emma-Nnopu with 3:45 remaining.

Free throws by Aaliyah Roberson stretched the lead to 17 towards the end of the third. Following a 8-0 run by BYU to cut the deficit to eight, TCU countered with a 7-0 run of their own. It was only fitting that a three pointer by Roberson would be the dagger as TCU went up 10 with a minute to go.

Roberson had a monster game finishing with 23 points on 7-13 shooting with four triples. She also hauled in 13 rebounds and had two blocks and steals. Emma-Nnopu also knocked down four threes with 17 points and nine rebounds.

The Frogs won back-to-back road games for the first time since the 2019-20 season. It's also the first season sweep of a Big 12 opponent in four years. TCU is now 17-9 overall with a 4-11 conference record.

This season has had its ups and downs, but two consecutive wins and the possible return of Sedona Prince may seem to indicate that things are looking up as the regular season comes to a close.

TCU will be back in action this Saturday at home against Houston at 6 p.m.
