Big 12 Football Week 8: Oklahoma and Texas Both Survive Scares

In this story:
Week 8 for the Big 12 had some exciting games, many with unexpected scores.
The weekend began with a scare in Norman. The No. 6 Sooners hosted UCF as the Knights were still searching for their first-ever Big 12 win. It was the Dillon Gabriel Bowl, as the Oklahoma quarterback faced off against his former team. The two teams were tied 17-17 at the half, and the teams went back and forth in the second half. OU went ahead 31-23 with 3:20 remaining, but UCF came back and scored with 1:24 left. They needed the 2-point conversion to tie the game. The Sooners’ defense held, and the Sooners escaped with the win.
Texas became the second team from the league to become bowl-eligible with a win over Houston. That game was tied 24-24 until the Longhorns got the go-ahead touchdown with 5:46 remaining.
In a battle for last place in the conference, Cincinnati tried to come from behind to beat Baylor, but the Bears held off to get their second conference win of the season. Oklahoma State improved to 3-1 in conference play with a decisive win in Morgantown.
In the night games, Kansas State absolutely destroyed TCU. And BYU got the win over Texas Tech.
