Big 12 Football Week 2: Which games should you watch?

Every Big 12 team plays this week, but which game will be the best game to watch and have the biggest implications?

Big 12 Football Week 2: Which games should you watch?

Week One brought us TCU vs. Colorado, which ended up being the most-watched games of the week with over seven million viewers. It proved to be one heck of a game to watch. Week Two is upon us already; a slate of 14 more games is here for our viewing pleasure, packed with great games. Let's get into the rankings for this week's game and read till the end for my "Fort Worth" and "Dallas" games of the week.

Ranking the Big 12 Week 2 Games

1. #11 Texas at #3 Alabama

This rematch has been highly anticipated since last year's meeting, where Alabama narrowly managed to escape with the win. This could be the first year Texas is genuinely "back." What better way to prove it than to go into Tuscaloosa at night and hand Saban his 10th career loss at home?

2. Texas Tech vs. #13 Oregon

Last week, we saw Tech upset by Wyoming, and this week, they have their first home game against the Top 15 Ducks. Tech should have a way better showing this week and has a good chance of upsetting Oregon. This should be a great game from start to finish.

3. Baylor vs. #12 Utah

It's almost the same situation with Texas Tech. We saw Baylor upset last week by Texas State, and this week, they are hosting a top-15 Utah team with a defense that could make this game a blowout. Dave Aranda will have his boys ready this week, and I believe this will be a one-possession game from start to finish.

4. UCF at Boise State

UCF is trending in the right direction this year, but they are on the road against a tough Boise State team this week. Coach Gus Malzahn has had his team practicing on blue turf all week in preparation for this game. UCF should walk away with the win, but it will not be easy.

5. #18 Oklahoma vs. SMU

Last week, we saw Oklahoma rout Arkansas St., which reminded us of how Oklahoma used to be before last year. This week, they have a tough test in SMU. If Oklahoma can blow them out, they might be a dark horse favorite for the Big 12 this year.

6. Iowa State vs. Iowa

It's CyHawk week. This game could be a defensive masterpiece or a punter showcase, and there is no in-between. The rivalry aspect still intrigues it; it will always be a close game, and this year should be no different.

7. Oklahoma State at Arizona State

Mike Gundy will always have his team ready to play, and this week will be no different. The Pokes are playing on the road against a below-average Arizona State team. Oklahoma State could win by a few touchdowns, or the young team could struggle on the road, leaving this game close the whole way through.

8. Cincinnati at Pitt

Cincinnati comes into this game off a win, but I believe their win streak stops here. Pitt is a good team and will be too much for the Bearcats to handle. This should be a good game until the fourth quarter when Pitt should pull away.

9. Houston at Rice

Houston pulled off a fantastic win last week against an excellent UTSA program. They get an easier game, but one that shouldn't be overlooked. If Houston is caught looking to next week's game against TCU, maybe look for Rice to pull the upset card or keep this game close all the way through.

10. Kansas vs. Illinois

On paper, this game looks close and has all the makings of a close game, but if Jalon Daniels plays this week, look for Kansas to blow Illinois out.

11. TCU vs. Nicholls

This game should not be close, but seeing how TCU will respond to a close loss against Colorado is worth watching. After last week's game, Coach Sonny Dykes said the players did not look ready to play, and this week will be worth seeing if that changes at all.

12. #15 Kansas State vs. Troy

While this could usually be a trap game, I do not think it will happen that way. Look for Kansas State to be up by a lot and be up by a lot early; it should be a blowout by halftime.

13. BYU vs. Southern Utah

BYU is known for taking care of business against lesser-known opponents, which will not change this week. This game should be a blowout from start to finish.

14. West Virginia vs. Duquense

While West Virginia may not be the best team, they played a top-ranked Penn State exceptionally well last week. Look for the Mountaineers to easily get their first win of the season at home this year.

"Fort Worth" Game of the Week

We know that Fort Worth is better than Dallas. So, each week, I will give you the best FBS game of the week, aka the Fort Worth Game of the Week: This is must-see TV.

#11 Texas at #3 Alabama

Saturday, 6 p.m. CT, ESPN

"Dallas" Game of the Week

If the "Fort Worth" Game is the best game in FBS, then the "Dallas" Game is obviously the worst game of the week. Don't even bother watching this one.

Iowa at Iowa State

Saturday, 2:30 p.m. CT, Fox
