Meet Micah Robinson: TCU Basketball's Next Star

In this story:
Remember the name Micah Robinson because he is lined up to be the next TCU basketball star.
Robinson is the third-best commit in program history, only behind Blake Adams and PJ Fuller. Ranking 64th in the 2024 ESPN 100, the four-star prospect chose the Frogs over schools like Kansas, Texas Tech, and many other top schools.
Micah is currently playing his high school ball at the legendary Oak Hill Academy. Oak Hill is one of the best high school programs in the nation and has produced many NBA superstars like Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, and Rajon Rondo. Robinson is the highest-ranked player on his team, putting him in elite company that has set him up for success.
My co-host Davis Wilson and I had the privilege of talking to the TCU commit on the most recent Frog Fever Podcast where we were able to learn about his story and what he hopes to bring to the Frog program.

When discussing his recruitment, Micah Robinson had a lot to think about before choosing TCU. What really stuck out to Robinson was how much he felt the TCU coaches really wanted him throughout the process.
"I felt like they cared for me more than just a player that was going to play for their program," said Robinson on the TCU coaches. Being looked at as more than just a basketball player was a value Micah had throughout the process.
Robinson comes from a short drive from TCU's campus in Frisco, a benefit to his decision he noted. He played summer basketball with Southern Assault in the DFW area in high school and has always been familiar with the area.
"It's maybe a 45-minute to an hour drive for my friends and family back home," Robinson stated on the location. Being able for others to watch him play will be a cool factor for the top recruit.
Robinson is a 6-foot-6 long, athletic wing that can play both ways and handle multiple positions. He joins David Punch, Malick Diallo, and Ashton Simmons to make up the 11th-ranked 2024 recruiting class in the country and the best in TCU history.
Micah believes his style of play will fit well with the other recruits in Jamie Dixon's system, and they will be able to add a boost to the team right away.
"I told Coach Benford tell me who and I'm going to get to my recruiting," Robinson said. "We're going to be able to help the program a lot and really be able to take it to new heights."
Ranked No. 73 nationally, 6-6 forward Micah Robinson is staying close to home and will be a Horned Frog next season.

Robinson is determined to make a strong impact on not just the basketball team but the whole Horned Frog community. He intends to major in business and be involved in other campus life as a student.
"I want people to know me as someone who is not just a basketball player," Robinson said. "I'm excited to be a Horned Frog, and I can't wait to get to work."
Frog fans should be extremely excited about the potential of Micah Robinson's game. Robinson along with the rest of the 2024 recruiting class can bring a new success that the TCU men's basketball program has never seen before. Buy stock now.
