BREAKING: Kansas City Chiefs Win Super Bowl, Trey Smith Gets Ring

In this story:
Super 57 certainly lived up to the hype. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles were locked in a battle all night, trading blows in what become a four-quarter affair. There was some excellent showings from both offenses and defenses, but ultimately, the Chiefs proved victorious.
Quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts delivered a quarterback battle for the ages. Hurts logged four total touchdowns, including three rushing touchdowns himself. Meanwhile, Mahomes battled through a high-ankle sprain and made some big time throws in the second half.
Kansas City's victory means that former Tennessee offensive lineman Trey Smith gets his first Super Bowl ring. The Chiefs took Smith with the No. 226 overall pick, which some may view as a throw away. However, Smith battled through adversity and became the starting right guard for Kansas City.
Smith was ESPN's No. 1 player in the 2017 class and chose Tennessee over several other high-level offers. He spent four season with the Volunteers, compiling a decorated resume. Smith was a two-time All-SEC first-team selection, and in his senior year was a second-team All-American.
Philadelphia also had a former Volunteer in edge rusher Derek Barnett. Though Barnett is on injured reserved, he would have gotten a ring had the Eagles won. Barnett already has a Super Bowl ring from his rookie season, softening the blow a little bit.
He only appeared in one game in the 2022 season after tearing his ACL in the season opener. This was Barnett's fifth season in the NFL, and to date he has 126 tackles and 16.5 sacks.
