Longhorns Walk Off Red Raiders 6-5 to Clinch Series Win: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns (16-7, 1-0) are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they look to clinch their first series in conference play against the No. 14 Texas Tech Red Raiders (18-5, 2-2).
Friday night saw the Longhorns take the series opener against the Red Raiders in a 6-2 thriller, however it was a low-scoring affair through five innings as the two teams headed to the sixth inning tied 1-1.
The Red Raiders briefly took the lead in the top of the sixth, though, on a Gavin Kash solo home run to make it 2-1. That lead did not last long as Porter Brown answered with a two-run, go ahead home run in the bottom half to put the Longhorns ahead 3-2.
Texas would add three more runs in the bottom of the eighth on a two-run Jack O'Dowd double and a Mitchell Daly sacrifice fly to push the lead to 6-2, which was the final score.
Now, the Longhorns look to Saturday to clinch the series win and run their winning streak to 13 games.
