Longhorns Bats Go Cold in 8-3 Stanford Loss: Live Game Log
The Texas Longhorns (42-20) are back in action once again on Sunday night as they take on the Stanford Cardinal (42-18) in game two of the Stanford Super Regional with a trip to Omaha on the line.
All that is standing between the Longhorns and their 39th trip to the College World Series is just one win, a win which they now have two opportunities to pull off against Stanford.
Of course, they wouldn't be in the position to clinch a bid to Omaha if not for some timely late inning heroics on Saturday. Trailing 5-2 entering the top of the ninth, the Longhorns hung five runs on the board en route to a 7-5 win to steal game on from the Cardinal.
Now, the Longhorns look to finish the job and take game two from Stanford to remain undefeated in NCAA Tournament play and get themselves back to Omaha for the third straight season.
