Five Longhorns Land On On3's Top 100 NIL Valuation

The Texas Longhorns have one of the biggest fanbases in college athletics, which helps their athletes reach fruitful NIL opportunities.

The Texas Longhorns have two NIL collectives, Horns With Heart and Clark Field Collective, the latter which was named a top-10 most-ambitious collective by On3 in 2022.

Between those collectives, their abilities and followings on their social media accounts, Longhorns quarterbacks Arch Manning and Quinn Ewers, wide receiver Xavier Worthy, offensive tackle Kelvin Banks and track-and-field high-jumper Sam Hurley are all in the top 100 for NIL valuation, according to On3.

On3 updates their rankings weekly and their valuation are determined by an algorithm that factors in their performance on the field or court while accounting for their opponent and ranking, social media following and influence and their exposure — players at bigger programs with more fans at more important positions have a higher exposure.

Manning ranks third of all college athletes with an NIL valuation of $2.8 million, only trailing USC men's basketball commit Bronny James and LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne. The son of Cooper Manning and the nephew of longtime NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, the Isidore Newman High School product and incoming Texas freshman has a total 254,000 followers, headlined by 180,000 on Instagram.

This comes after Manning didn't receive a penny in his recruitment and commitment to Texas, head coach Steve Sarkisian said in April.

Worthy is the No. 18 NIL valuation at $1.1 million. This is the second-highest receiver behind Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. who is valued $100,000 more. Worthy is one of the top returning receivers in college football with 152,000 followers between Instagram and Twitter.

Hurley checks in two spots behind Worthy as the only track athlete in the top 100. His valuation comes highly because of his social media following with 3.6 million followers and a total of 165.9 million likes on TikTok, 1 million followers on Instagram and 352,000 on Twitter.

Ewers' is No. 60 on the NIL valuation rankings at $701,000 and, despite having 209,000 followers on his three social media platforms, being the quarterback of a national championship contender is likely to skyrocket the number of deals he can get.

The Southland, Texas native received an Aston Martin as well as modeling Texas' Wrangler clothing line partnership after his arrival to the Forty Acres.

Part of Banks' $619,000 NIL valuation comes from the $50,000 per year he earns from Horns With Heart, but the rest comes from his abilities as one of the best offensive tackles in the Big 12. He is ranked No. 74 and rounds out Texas' five in the top 100.

Banks received a GMC truck in January as part of a partnership with Vanguard Volkswagen.
