Two Texas Longhorns Heading to Cowboys in Latest Mock Draft

Two Longhorns stars could be wearing a star on their helmets by the end of the month.

The Texas Longhorns are set to take the NFL Draft by storm this month, with mutliple star players projected to be picked in the early rounds.

As is to be expected, many of those players have been projected to land in various spots aross the league, with players like Xavier Worthy and Byron Murphy being mocked to multiple suitors throughout the last few weeks.

However, there is one player that has had a constant fit in mind by most experts, with running back Jonathon Brooks seemingly destined to wear a star on his helmet as part of the Dallas Cowboys.

In a recent mock from Pro Football Focus, that continued to be the case. But this time, Brooks won't be the only Horns star joining America's Team.

In this edition, Brooks goes to Dallas with the No. 56 pick in the second round, joining Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb as the presumed No. 1 back once he is fully healed from his ACL injury.

However, if PFF's predictions come true, Texas star receiver Adonai Mitchell will join Brooks, where he will help form a dynamic receiver group alongside Lamb.

"Dallas could go in many directions at this spot, but it’s time for the next wide receiver off the board, and Adonai Mitchell from Texas has elite potential," PFF writes. "All the focus at the NFL scouting combine was on his teammate breaking the 40-yard dash record, but Mitchell clocking 4.34 at 205 pounds was almost as impressive."

The Missouri City, Texas native had a career year in his first year with the Horns, that saw him rack up 55 catches for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns. He showcased his elite speed, route running, and tremendous ability to come down with 50-50 balls.

Now, he has a chance to join an already elite offense, where he and his former teammate Brooks could both turn into difference makers on Day 1.
