The Texas Longhorns have continued to perform throughout the 2026 season, although their historic winning streak was ended at 29 games after their recent loss to rivals the Texas A&M Aggies. The Longhorns keep rolling.

The Longhorns came away with a Lone Star Showdown series win over the Aggies after winning games one and two as the Longhorns build to a 31-2 overall record and an 8-1 record in SEC play at the midway point of the season.

And still undefeated in conference series, the Longhorns get ready for a massive top-five showdown on the road as the Longhorns hit the road to take on the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide. On the road, the Longhorns have been steady with an 8-0 record away from Red and Charline McCombs Field, and that will be put to the test against Alabama's 19-1 record at home.

The Crimson Tide have been rolling throughout the 2026 season, ranking as one of the top five teams in the country, posting a 33-2 overall record, carrying a five-game winning streak to go along with a 7-2 record in the SEC.

Just like the Longhorns, the Crimson Tide are undefeated in their three conference series of the season, sweeping the Ole Miss Rebels, whom Texas also swept, followed by a Top 10 series victory by taking down the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks, whom the Longhorns will see at the end of the regular season, and most recently a series win over the Missouri Tigers.

The Alabama pitching staff is one of the best units in the country, with the third-lowest team ERA in the nation, sitting at a 1.41 ERA. Additionally, as a whole, the pitching staff combines for a .80 WHIP, striking out a total of 287 batters and limiting opponents to a .155 batting average.

The Crimson Tide features three pitchers with sub-2.00 ERA's, the leaders in the stable are Jocelyn Briski and Vic Moten, both of whom head into the series against the Longhorns with 76.1 innings pitched on the year.

Of the duo, Briski posts the lowest ERA at 1.28 to go along with a .66 WHIP and records a team-high 113 strikeouts and limits opposing batters to a .149 batting average. Moten is not too far behind with a 1.47 ERA and a .83 WHIP with 103 strikeouts and an opposing batting average of .144.
