The Bruins have finally secured a body for their future front line.

Class of 2022 offensive tackle Sam Yoon committed to UCLA football (2-0) late Wednesday night, becoming the only offensive or defensive lineman set to join the program in the upcoming recruiting class. Yoon, a senior at Loyola High School (CA) in Los Angeles, picked the Bruins over other prestigious academic Power Five institutions USC, California and Notre Dame.

Yoon also had offers from Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, Fordham, Kansas State and Oregon State.

Yoon's commitment is likely the one that UCLA Football Director of Player Personnel Ethan Young alluded to with his signature "BOOM" on Monday.

“I’m really excited to be a Bruin,” Yoon told 247Sports' Greg Biggins. “I loved my campus visits and UCLA really made a great impression on not just me but the rest of my family when we visited in late June."

Yoon earned his UCLA offer in June and has since visited campus on two separate occasions. He and his family were in attendance at both the Hawaii and LSU wins at the Rose Bowl.

Measuring in at 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, Yoon certainly has room to fill out his frame a bit before starting college ball. That being said, he has impressed scouts and coaches with his athleticism to this point, becoming a standout at the invite-only UC Report/Under Armour Camp in May.

Yoon is rated as a three-star recruit by both 247Sports and Rivals, with the 247Sports Composite ranking him as the No. 2 offensive tackle in California, No. 49 overall player in the state, No. 57 offensive tackle in the country and No. 646 recruit in his class.

Coach Chip Kelly is up to 11 commits for the class of 2022, six of which are top-50 players in California. Nine of them are California prospects.

Before Yoon, however, none of them were linemen. UCLA hauled in four offensive linemen in its 2021 class, so there is already some solid young depth up front in Westwood.

But with Sean Rhyan, Alec Anderson, Paul Grattan, Sam Marrazzo, Jon Gaines II and Atonio Mafi all in a position to leave the program in the offseason, getting another building block like Yoon was a big win for the Bruins.
