UCLA Football: Chip Kelly's Tactical Lineup Transition May Be Short-Lived

In this story:
Entering the season, there was a ton of talk about who the starting quarterback would be for the UCLA Bruins. Many wanted to see true freshman Dante Moore, but head coach Chip Kelly believed it was beneficial to use multiple throughout games.
More established himself as the best quarterback on the roster shortly after, but the Bruins went back to their dual-quarterback system against Oregon State. Some of that was due to Moore struggling, but it seemed to give the offense some needed life.
"For the first time since UCLA’s contest against North Carolina Central, coach Chip Kelly put someone other than Moore in the game as the Bruins’ play caller. On Saturday, that was redshirt junior Collin Schlee."
Per Grace Whitaker of The Daily Bruin
It seems that this lineup move by Kelly may be short-lived due to injury. Schlee was hurt against Oregon State and remains a question mark going forward.
“So when Kelly opted to use Schlee’s strengths to his advantage against Oregon State, the duo of Moore and Schlee added a new – albeit imperfect – dynamic to UCLA’s offense. However, the pairing may be short-lived depending on the prognosis of Schlee’s injury.”
Per Grace Whitaker of The Daily Bruin
The injury to Schlee hurts the Bruins' plan going forward, and they will be sticking with Moore. Moore has shown signs of greatness, but he has also had plenty of growing pains as well.
There were always going to be issues with a true freshman under center, but Moore needs to clean things up. He has committed costly turnovers in each game over the last few weeks, and it isn't a sustainable way to play football.
Moore seems to be the Bruins guy moving forward, but if he continues to perform poorly, the leash could be very short. The Bruins may be forced to bench their young phenom, if anything, to salvage their season.
