In this story:

Entering their game with the Oregon State Beavers last weekend, the UCLA Bruins had everything in front of them. But four quarters later, and the Bruins hopes to make noise in the Pac-12 all vanished before their eyes.

True freshman quarterback Dante Moore never got going, and his mistakes hurt the team. It was an unfortunate time for his issues to present themselves, and the Bruins paid the price with the loss.

“At this rate, the only streak UCLA holds is quarterback Dante Moore throwing an interception in the first two minutes of the game. The worst part for the Bruins: It wasn’t his only of the night.”

Per Grace Whitaker of The Daily Bruin

Moore struggled against Oregon State, and it caused problems for the Bruins all night. He couldn't get anything going and never seemed to get himself into a rhythm whatsoever.

“For the third game in a row, the freshman threw an interception during the opening moments of the contest. The streak began with Moore throwing a pick six within the first 12 seconds against Utah – one that eventually made the difference as UCLA lost 14-7 on Sept. 23.”

If Moore continues struggling like this, UCLA may need to consider benching him. They likely don't want to do that to a freshman quarterback, but to salvage their season, it may be needed.

“If this trend continues, not only will Moore continue to lead the Pac-12 in interceptions, but the country as well.”

Per Grace Whitaker of The Daily Bruin

The biggest issue with benching him would be taking the risk that his confidence takes a hit, especially if he is their starter going forward. These are good learning lessons for the young signal-caller, but he has to play better than he has.
