In this story:

The new NBA season is just around the corner, and UCLA Bruin fans may have their eye on the Miami Heat this year. Many will want to see how former Bruin Jamie Jaquez Jr. does in his first season in the league.

He was loved during his time at UCLA, and he has been making waves early on in his career. Jaquez Jr. shot up draft boards before the first round of the NBA Draft, and Miami took him at number 18.

Now entering his rookie season, he seems to be getting the attention of All-Star teammate Jimmy Butler. Butler spoke about the rookie and had high praise for his game.

Getting on Butler's radar isn't an easy task for anyone, let alone a rookie. Butler is known around the league as a tough teammate, in a good way.

He is a hard worker, and if you aren't doing the same, he will get on you about it. But it seems that Jaquez Jr. has put in the work, and Butler seems to like what he is seeing from the former Bruin.

The biggest issue with Jaquez Jr. will be if he can shoot the ball at a high rate all season. At times, he has struggled with that, but if Jaquez can become a consistent three-point shooter, he could easily see significant minutes for this team.

Miami is coming off another NBA Finals appearance, and they want to get back to the biggest stage. They believe that Jaquez Jr. can be a piece to helping them do that, and hopefully this time, they can get the job done.

UCLA fans will be cheering for Jaquez Jr. all season long, and hopefully, he puts on a show for Miami.
