UCLA Basketball: Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce Heavily Praise Former Bruin Turned NBA Star

The UCLA Bruins can be proud to know that their leadership skills have led to a huge rookie making waves in the NBA. Former Bruin and current Miami Heat rookie guard Jaime Jaquez Jr. has been tearing up the court.

During a podcast taping, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce began to speak about their picks for the Christmas games. Garnett immediately switched from picking the 76ers to picking the Heat simply because of Jaime Jaquez.

Both Garnett and Pierce began to speak about Jaquez. They hurled praise at the rookie stating that he is playing like he has already been in the league for a few years, despite this year being his rookie outing.

Jaquez is currently averaging 13.1 PPG, 3.7 REB, and 2.6 AST. He has certainly made his presence felt. Though the world is captivated by Victor Wembanyama from the San Antonio Spurs, Jaquez continues to be mentioned amongst those who should be given ROTY honors.

The Miami Heat are looking to be like a contender this year, and that could be because they landed a dynamic rookie in the former Bruin. It should come as nothing short of an honor to get so much praise from former NBA greats like KG and Pierce.

We know that they accidentally called him Jaime Vazquez, but we all know exactly who they meant.
