UCLA Football: Twitter Excoriates Bruins, Salutes Sun Devils After Home Upset

In this story:
Your UCLA Bruins' 2023 NCAA season is not officially over, but in a sense, it kind of is. If there was any shot at the 6-4 Bruins still having a chance to make the Pac-12 title game, that all went out the window with their upset loss to the 3-7 Arizona State Sun Devils, 17-7.
It was an embarrassing outing for the Bruins from start to finish. It was a game they should have won, but once again came up short. Nothing new for Bruin fans in the Chip Kelly era, as it seems like they always come up short one way or another.
Fans were clearly not happy with their team's performance and let them have it via X/Twitter.
UCLA playing calling in short yardage spot comes up well short and reason for embarrassing 17-7 loss to depleted ASU.

2-7 Arizona State, which lost 55-3 to Utah last week, is about to beat UCLA 17-7 at the Rose Bowl.

That's as bad a loss as it gets for the Bruins.
Chip Kelly’s play-calling is such a pathetic joke.

ASU 17

UCLA 7 FINAL
Unacceptable
This loss is 💯 on Chip Kelly
Bruins didn’t look prepared
Devils outplayed them
There needs to be some soul searching in that UCLA Athletic Department about the future of this program

Outside of the run game, which is promising more times than not, there was nothing to be pleased about regarding the Bruins. The Sun Devils, on the other hand, were praised and possibly played their best brand of football all season long.
How about Arizona State? Got beat 55-3 last week, came up off the mat and just beat UCLA in the Rose Bowl.

Great win for ASU at UCLA. Building job in progress.

Final: ASU 17, UCLA 7

Two things, equally true:
- Terrible loss for UCLA
- Terrific win for ASU
UCLA's QB situation (Moore, Garbers: DNPs) is not an excuse - ASU is a M*A*S*H unit
Arizona State beats UCLA 17-7. That team is down so much personnel, had nothing to play for all year, and they've battled hard all season. Kenny DIllingham has kept that team fighting for him. A good sign for the future.

Arizona State was playing for absolutely nothing, yet the Sun Devils showed more heart, fight, and want to than the Bruins, who were still alive in the Pac-12 title fight.
The Bruins have had some lows under Chip Kelly, but this may be rock bottom. The offense failed to do anything to stay competitive in the game, scoring until the fourth quarter, and the defense, which looked promising all season long, has been a disaster in the last two outings.
The writing seems to be on the wall, and if the Bruins fail to get a win at the Coliseum next week against the hated USC Trojans... well, I'm sure you know the rest.
