Nelson Agholor is the perfect example of the phrase 'it's never too late'.

He was drafted out of USC in 2015 by the Philadelphia Eagles, and spent five seasons in Philadelphia. Although he was on the team in 2017-2018 when the Eagles won their first and only Super Bowl, he had trouble making a name for himself.

Agholor was infamous for dropping passes and did not earn the reputation most wide receivers desire during his time in Pennsylvania.

But once he signed as a free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders last season, things started to turn around.

Agholor had 48 receptions for 896 yards and eight touchdowns in the 2020 season. He also caught a career long touchdown pass of 85 yards from Raiders quarterback, Derek Carr, against the Miami Dolphins in week 15.

Six years into the NFL, Agholor might just be getting that big break he has been working towards.

According to Sports Illustrated's Raider Maven publisher, Hondo Carpenter, there is word that the Las Vegas Raiders might be moving towards a two year, $15 million contract extension for Nelson Agholor. If the rumors are true, that would put Agholor back into free agency when his contract extension ends in 2023.

Agholor was one of Derek Carr's top receivers this season. The Raiders finished just shy of playoff contention at 8-8 and ranked second in the AFC West.

During his time at USC, Agholor caught 104 passes for 12 touchdowns and 1,313 yards. He was also named Pac-12 First Team All-Conference as a senior in 2014.

According to Sporttrac.com, Agholor signed a one year contract with the Raiders before the 2020 season for $1,047,500 with a signing bonus of $137,500.

If Agholor's rumored two year contract extension for $15 million goes through, it is safe to say that he has found a good home with the Las Vegas Raiders.
