In this story:

Reigning Heisman Trophy Winner Caleb Williams has been the best player in the college football ranks for some time now. He easily was the best player last year, and he has done nothing to discredit that fact early in this season, either.

The USC quarterback will likely be the first overall pick in the upcoming 2024 Draft, and we will start to see teams tank later in the year to get the chance to draft him. He could be a real game-changer for whatever team lands him in the draft.

Through three weeks of the NFL season, we have already seen a shift in which team has the best chance to land Williams. It was thought to be the Arizona Cardinals for the longest time, but now the Chicago Bears have the best chance to get him.

“Before the loss, the Bears were projected to pick No. 2 overall by ESPN Analytics' Football Power Index. But with the Cardinals win, the Bears are suddenly in the driver's seat heading into Week 4.”

Per ESPN.com NFL Staff

Chicago dropped another game this weekend to the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 41-10. They looked overmatched the entire time, and it only seems to worsen.

While it is only three weeks, the Bears haven't looked good at all. They have problems all over their roster, and despite having quarterback Justin Field in the mix, if they were to land the first overall pick, Williams would be in play.

It would be a similar situation to when the Cardinals landed their current quarterback, Kyler Murray. Shortly before they got him, they drafted former UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen, but when Murray became available, they dropped Rosen.

Williams is a better player than Murray, so the Bears wouldn't even think twice. The Trojans signal-caller will have many teams try to get him next year, and it will certainly be something to watch.
