Alabama football player Tony Mitchell is facing legal troubles after he was arrested on a recent trip to Florida with another person.

Mitchell was arrested on charges of marijuana possession with the intent to sell and/or deliver this week, according to media reports.

Mitchell was taken into police custody during the arrest.

Holmes Co. (Fla.) Sheriff's Office acknowledged the arrest in a public Facebook post, showing images of a large trash bag filled with marijuana in addition to a firearm and stacks of cash that were taken in Mitchell's arrest.

"A search of the vehicle produced an additional significant amount of marijuana, a set of scales, a loaded handgun between the passenger seat and center console, and a large amount of cash," the sheriff said.

Mitchell arrived at the Alabama football program as a member of the team's No. 1 ranked 2023 recruiting class.
