Arizona State has its quarterback, as former Florida signal caller Emory Jones will transfer to the Sun Devils in time for the 2022 college football season, according to a report from ESPN.

Jones' addition gives the Sun Devils a much-needed input of experience and talent on an offense that ranked No. 75 overall nationally a year ago.

Ups and downs at Florida

Jones has showed flashes during his career at Florida, but also inconsistent play.

He completed 68 percent of his pass attempts for 2,563 yards, 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in the regular season, adding 133 rushing attempts for 697 yards and four touchdowns, but his 13 interceptions were the most among all quarterbacks in the SEC.

Jones finished at No. 10 in the SEC last fall with 213.6 passing yards per game and 58 rushing yards per game. In total, the quarterback accounted for almost 58 percent of the Gators' overall offensive production.

UF placed No. 15 overall in college football in offensive production last season at 463 yards per game with 53 total touchdowns scored.

Highly-coveted prospect

Jones was a four-star recruit in the 2018 college football recruiting class, ranking as the No. 11 overall quarterback that year. Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State originally offered him.

Arizona State lost a bevy of talented starting production to the transfer portal this offseason, including starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who committed to LSU.

In his collegiate career, Jones has thrown for 3,176 yards, 26 touchdowns and 14 interceptions with 1,211 rushing yards and ten scores on the ground.

Jones has two years of eligibility remaining.
