There are Now Five Teams That Have Never Won a World Series Title

With the Texas Rangers winning their first-ever World Series on Wednesday night, there are now five teams that have yet to win a World Series title.

The Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday night 5-0 to win the organization's first World Series title.

Texas, who finished second in the American League West this season and earned a wild card, went a perfect 11-0 on the road in these playoffs en route to the championship. They will be defined by those road performances and by an extremely strong offense.

As a result of the Rangers' win, there are now just five teams that have never won a World Series title: The San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays, Colorado Rockies and Milwaukee Brewers.

Each of those teams have been to the World Series with the exception of the Mariners, who started play in 1977.

San Diego has made the World Series twice (1984 and 1998). Ironically enough, Rangers' manager Bruce Bochy was the Padres' manager during the 1998 loss to the New York Yankees.

The Rays have been to the World Series twice in their history also, losing to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the COVID 2020 season.

The Rockies have made one appearance in the Fall Classic, losing to the Boston Red Sox in the 2007 season.

As for the Brewers, they got to the World Series in the 1982 season, when they were playing in the American League. They now play in the National League and have yet to represent the NL in the World Series.

With the Rangers' win, it's officially time for the offseason. These five teams can get to work on trying to break their own droughts.
